Review: Next-Gen 2025 GMC Terrain Small-SUV

The 2010 model year marked the début of the first generation GMC Terrain, while the 2018 model year marked the introduction of the second generation of the crossover. Now, the GMC Terrain 2025 will debut the third generation model. The forthcoming 2025 GMC Terrain has been described in detail by GM Authority.

The GMC Terrain AT4 off-road trim level will be enhanced for the 2025 model year, with enhanced off-road performance and a more rugged appearance. This also includes the General Grabber AT tires that will presumably be standard on the forthcoming Elevation trim level.

Naturally, the 2025 GMC Terrain will also be offered as a compact crossover with five doors, and its overall dimensions and footprint will be comparable to those of the current-generation model. Nonetheless, the exterior design of the new 2025 Terrain will be completely redesigned with a more expressive design and erect profile than the current model. Mark Reuss, the president of GM, stated that the 2025 GMC Terrain will have the look of a strong, sturdy truck.

In addition, the 2025 GMC Terrain incorporates a new headlamp design with more prominent C-shaped headlights that are mirrored by the C-shaped taillights and dual exhaust system. In addition, the AT4 model may feature new wheel designs, and the Elevation may sport a more expressive appearance.

Interior

Fans of GMC will be ecstatic to learn that the interior of the 2025 GMC Terrain will be entirely redesigned with enhanced ergonomics and increased usable space. In addition to a new gauge cluster and a new infotainment system with a larger display, upper trim levels will feature a completely digital gauge cluster.

In addition, a new steering wheel, new colors, new materials, enhanced safety technology, and possibly a GM Super Cruise system will be included.

The 2025 GMC Terrain will also feature a new turbocharged engine with a small displacement and a nine-speed automatic transmission from GM. In order to reduce output, both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive will be available.

Platform and Performance

The 2025 GMC Terrain will utilize the D2-2 architecture, which is essentially an updated version of the GM D2 platform that underpins the current model. GM Global B electronic architecture will support the most recent technological features.

Given the rate of production, it is likely that it will take place at the GM plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It is anticipated that production will commence in the middle of the year 2024, with the initial units arriving in late 2024 or early 2025. North America, the Middle East, and South Korea will offer the 2025 GMC Terrain for sale.
