Toyota did not mention the price. But the SR5's Premium class – which adds some luxuries to the base SR5 like heated seats – starts at $41,515 at 2022 prices. Neither of those features would seem to drive the price up too high for the 40th Anniversary Special Edition.

In addition to the 2023 4Runner Specs 40th Anniversary Special Edition, Toyota continues to use the same 4.0-liter V6 engine and five-speed automatic configuration and the same trim lineup for 2023.

One significant change is that Toyota makes safety technologies such as Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. standard on all grades.
